Lactation Consultations
Lactation consultations improve breastfeeding relationships and build confidence through empathetic and analytic listening, support, and sharing of evidence-based techniques and information.  I am an in-network provider with Aetna and bill them directly; otherwise I will provide a coded superbill receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Aetna clients only: a $50 convenience fee will apply for all in-home visits. This fee is not reimbursable by Aetna

Sliding scale fees and payment options are available for virtual and office services - please text or email to learn more.

An initial consultation usually takes approximately 1.5 hours and includes:
  • spending time with you and your baby while discussing history, reason for visit, and your breastfeeding goals
  • observing a breastfeeding session (or pumping session if appropriate)
  • latching and positioning assistance
  • assessing maternal breast and infant oral anatomy
  • determining the most likely reasons for breastfeeding difficulties
  • exploring strategies for improvement, discussing the pros and cons of each option
  • creating a care plan together, making sure the plan is a good fit for your family
  • a superbill receipt includes the diagnostic codes required by insurance companies for insurance reimbursement
  • 7 days of email, text, and phone support
  • In-home and office visits include a weighted feed on a clinical infant scale

Follow-Up Consultation
Follow-up consultations are shorter than initial visits, and allow us to assess progress and update your care plan to continue addressing the initial issue. These visits include:
  • evaluating and analyzing changes to your initial issue since the prior visit
  • creating a follow-up care plan together
  • a superbill receipt that includes the diagnostic codes required by insurance companies for insurance reimbursement
  • 7 days of email, text, and phone support

    Follow-Up Consultation Fees
    In-home: $249
    Office: $199
    Virtual: $99

Ongoing Email and Text Support
After the initial week of email, text, and phone support, established clients can subscribe to an ongoing support package. This service:
  • allows us to continue to troubleshoot and tweak care plans after the acute-care phase has passed
  • is good for check-ins after pediatrician appointments, before traveling, during times of transition, or whenever you need a pep talk!
  • is available at a weekly ($25) or monthly ($95) rate

Quick Phone Support
Also available to established clients, 30-minute phone consults let clients ask questions about a single issue (plugged ducts, pump settings, starting solids, tweaking pumping schedule, infant development, weaning, etc.) without scheduling a full consultation.
Fee: $50

Back to Work Consultation (Virtual)
Going back to work after a baby is a unique kind of physical and emotional challenge. During this virtual consultation, we will go over how to create a milk stash for returning to work, a pumping schedule and tips unique to your work situation, transitioning between breast and bottle, helpful tips for the baby’s caregiver, and what to expect as you and your baby adjust to this new phase of your breastfeeding relationship. This includes a written care plan and text support through the first week of your transition to tweak any unexpected issues. The best time to schedule a back to work consultation is approximately 4 weeks before your start date.
Fee: $149

Baby’s First Foods (Virtual)
Introducing solid foods to your baby can be both exciting and daunting. During this virtual consult, we discuss signs of baby’s readiness to transition to solid foods, how best to transition without undermining your supply, different ways to feed your baby to encourage the breastfeeding relationship, and of course how to select first foods! The best time to schedule this consultation is around the 5 month mark, or, sooner if baby's healthcare provider recommended starting solids earlier than 6 months.
Fee: $149
